Speaker: Rebecca Sanchez is an assistant professor of English at Fordham University. Her work on modernist literature, disability studies, literary and cultural theory, and poetics has appeared in journals including American Literary Realism, Modern Language Studies, and the CEA Critic. Her first book, Deafening Modernism: Embodied Language, Visual Poetics and American Literature, was published in 2015 with New York University Press. She is currently working on a project that explores representations and experiences of homelessness in the early twentieth century for which she won a 2015-16 AAUW postdoctoral research fellowship.
