We are delighted to extend an invitation to students to attend the 2017 Athena Film Festival, co-founded by the Athena Center for Leadership Studies at Barnard College and Women and Hollywood, being held February 9-12, 2017 at Barnard College in New York City.
The festival showcases films about powerful and courageous women leaders in real life and the fictional world; it is a weekend dedicated to elevating female voices and stories to inspire and empower a new generation of filmmakers and individuals.
We are happy to offer student delegations free tickets to a film of your choice and to invite them to the youth luncheon that will be held Saturday, February 10, 2017,at 11:00am in the Student Lunch Dining Hall, Diana Center. This luncheon is open to middle-school, high-school, and college students.
Students from around the country and beyond, have had a great time networking, discussing the importance of women and leadership both on and off the screen, hearing a special presentation by a surprise guest from the industry and, of course, sharing their love of film. In recent years, the lunch was attended by delegations from as far away as China and Mexico and from such schools as Rutgers, Princeton, Berkeley School of Music, Bentley, NYU, West Point and more.
